This is an original, one-sheet movie poster from 1964 for Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. The classic Cold War comedy stars Peter Sellers, George C. Scott, Slim Pickens and Sterling Hayden. The film was directed by Stanley Kubrick. Tomi Ungerer is the artist for the poster.
There are two versions of this one-sheet poster that were printed in 1964: one with a dark red title and one with a day-glo, reddish orange title. This poster features the day-glo title.
The poster measures 27" x 41" and is in very good condition with some scattered, light creases from previous handling. There is a tiny tear on the upper-left, horizontal fold line and some slight darkening long the fold-lines and outer edges. It was folded at the time of printing. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not cropped or a stock image
This very rare and collectible poster, printed in 1964 to promote the initial, theatrical release of Dr. Strangelove, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
