This is an original, linen-backed, Spanish movie poster from 1970 for the initial, theatrical release of El Vampiro (The Vampire) starring Abel Salazar, Ariadna Welter, Carmen Montejo, Jose Luis Jimenez, German Robles, and Mercedes Soler. Fernando Mendez directed the Mexican horror thriller. Francisco Fernández-Zarza (a.k.a. Jano) is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 27" x 39.5" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in good to very good condition prior to linen-backing with some very fine, horizontal white lines on the upper-right and bottom-right of the poster that occurred during printing. They are not creases and were not addressed during restoration but could certainly be touched up during a future restoration. It was folded at the time of printing and had minor fold and cross-fold wear. The folds are less noticeable after linen-backing.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). The black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1960 to promote the initial, Spanish theatrical release of El Vampiro, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
