This is an original, linen-backed, one-sheet movie poster from 1959 for Some Like It Hot starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown. Billy Wilder directed the classic crime comedy.
The poster measures 27" x 41" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. Prior to backing and restoration, the poster was in fair to good condition with some small tears and separations along some of the folds and cross-folds. There were also a few, scattered tears in the upper-left and middle section of the poster. The white borders of the poster were once trimmed off for framing. The borders were restored during linen-backing but the bottom border lacks the small, black copyright text that was lost when trimmed.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not a stock image. The black circles in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This rare and collectible poster, printed in 1959 to promote the initial, theatrical release of Some Like It Hot, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
