This is an original French grande movie poster from 1964 for Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. The classic Cold War comedy stars Peter Sellers, George C. Scott, Slim Pickens and Sterling Hayden. The film was directed by Stanley Kubrick.
The very rare, unrestored, yellow-style poster measures 46" x 61.5" and is in good to very good condition some areas of edge wear and a few pinholes and tape residue in the corners and sides from theatrical display. There are tiny separations at the upper-left and bottom-left cross-folds. It was folded at the time of printing. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not cropped or a stock image. The black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This extremely scarce and collectible poster, printed in 1964 to promote the initial French theatrical release of Dr. Strangelove, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
