This is an original one-sheet movie poster from 1918 for Rich Man, Poor Man starring Marguerite Clark, Richard Barthelmess, George Backus, Frederick Warde, and J.W. Herbert. Searle Dawley directed the silent, romantic drama. Rich Man, Poor Man is a "lost" film meaning there are no known prints in existence.
The stone-lithograph poster was printed in early 1918 in advance of the April release of the film. It measures 27.75” x 41” (it has not been trimmed) and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display.
Prior to linen-backing the poster was in good to very good condition with a 6 inch vertical tear near the center of the top border (the tear was repaired during the linen-backing process) and some minor spots of surface wear towards the bottom of the poster. It was folded at the time of printing but the folds are much less noticeable after linen-backing. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying).
This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1918 to promote the theatrical release of Rich Man, Poor Man, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
