This is an original, linen-backed, Australian daybill theartical movie poster from 1956 for Picnic starring William Holden, Kim Novak, Betty Field, Susan Strasberg, Cliff Robertson, and Arthur O'Connell. Joshua Logan directed the romantic drama based on the play by William Inge.
The poster measures 13.25" x 30" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in very good condition prior to restoration with pinholes in the corners from theatrical display and some light scuffs near the top of the poster. It was folded at the time of printing but the folds are less prominent after backing. The poster was used in New Zealand and has a ratings stamp on the lower-right corner. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
