Ben Hur (1959)

This is an original, linen-backed, one-sheet movie poster from 1959 for the initial, theatrical release of Ben-Hur starring Charlton Heston, Jack Hawkins, Hugh Griffith and Haya Haraeet. William Wyler directed the Biblical epic that was briefly released in New York in Los Angeles in 1959 before being widely released in early 1960. Joseph Smith is the artist for the poster.

The poster measures 27" x 41" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. It was in very good condition prior to restoration with pinholes from theatrical display and wear along some of the edges and surfaces from previous handling. It was folded at the time of printing. The fold lines are barely noticeable after restoration. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.

Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). The black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
