This is an original, one-sheet movie poster from 1980 for the initial, U.S. theatrical release of Mad Max starring Mel Gibson, Joanne Samuel, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Steve Bisley, Tim Burns, and Roger Ward. George Miller directed the classic, post-apocalyptic action film. Bill Garland is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 27” x 41” and is in excellent, unused condition. It was folded at the time of printing. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photo as it is not cropped or a stock image. Please note that Mad Max one sheet posters with a small GCIU union (not founded until 1982) logo at the bottom-center of the white border are from 1983 and are not from the first release. This poster, unlike the GCIU posters, is guaranteed to be from initial theatrical release.
This rare and very collectible poster, printed in early 1980 to promote the theatrical release of Mad Max, is not a reprint or reproduction.
