Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)

This is an original, rolled, foil-lettered, one-sheet movie poster from 1979 for Star Trek: The Motion Picture starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, George Takei, Walter Koenig, Nichelle Nichols, Majel Barrett and Stephen Collins.  Robert Wise directed the film. Roger Huyssen is the artist for the poster.

The advance poster was shipped to movie theaters in early 1979 ahead of the December 8, 1979 release of the film.  It was printed on heavier stock paper and features attractive, foil lettering for the main title. 

The poster measures 25.25” x 39.25” (this is the original size and it has not been trimmed).  It is in very good condition with pinholes in the corners from theatrical display, some creasing and spots of discoloration around the white edges, and a few, tiny spots of surface creasing.  Someone previously wrote (and later erased) the words "Coming Christmas" along the top white border in 1979 as, due to the smaller size of the one sheet, the white border would have shown in a theater display case.  There is a tiny tear and a piece of clear tape residue on the upper-right edge.  Unlike most one-sheet posters from this period, it has never been folded.

Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). The black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
