Film: Ecstasy (1933)
Year poster printed: 1944 (theatrical re-release)
Country: United States
Size: 28" x 41"
This is an original, rolled, one-sheet movie poster from 1944 for Ekstase (released in the U.S. as "Ecstasy") starring Hedy Lamarr (billed under her real name Hedy Kiesler), Aribert Dog, Zvonimir Rogoz, Leopold Kramer, Emil Jerman and Pierre Nay. Gustav Machaty directed the Czechoslovakian/Austrian drama. Also released as Symphonie der Liebe (or Symphony of Love), the movie was controversial due to female nudity and portrayals of sexual situations.
Ecstasy had a very limited US release in 1936. Some states banned the film. After Hedy Lamarr achieved fame, the film started an ongoing, roadshow release in 1940.
This poster is from a 1944 re-release of the film and measures 28" x 41". It is in good to very good condition with some surface creasing from handing. It has never been folded.
Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). The small, black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This rare and collectible poster, printed in 1944 for a theatrical re-release of Ecstasy, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
