This is an original Argentine movie poster from 1943 for Walt Disney's Victory Through Air Power featuring Major Alexander de Seversky, Art Baker, and Billy Mitchell. James Algar and Clyde Geronimi directed the World War II, air power advocacy film features a mix of cartoon animation about the development of planes as instruments of war with footage of Alexander de Seversky, who wrote the 1942 book Victory Through Air Power, directly addressing the audience.
The poster measures 29" x 43" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. It was in very good to excellent condition prior to linen-backing with very minor wear from previous handling. It was folded at the time of printing but the folds are much less noticeable after restoration. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). The black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1943 to promote the Argentine theatrical release of Victory Through Air Power, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
