This is an original, recalled one-sheet movie poster from 1978 for Up in Smoke starring Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong, Tom Skerritt, Edie Adams, Strother Martin, and Stacy Keach. Lou Adler directed the classic comedy. Charles White III is the artist for the poster.
The poster was sent to movie theaters but soon recalled by Paramount as there was criticism that the tagline "Don't go straight to see this movie" was encouraging drug use. New posters were printed with a different tagline.
The poster measures 27” x 41” and is in very good condition with pinholes in the corners and sides from theatrical display and the upper-left corner has a small tear from rough removal. It was folded at the time of printing. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not cropped or a stock image.
This rare and collectible poster, printed in 1978 to promote the theatrical release of Up in Smoke, is not a reprint or reproduction.
