    Das Boot (1981)

Please notify me when this poster is available:

    • Film: Das Boot (1981)
      Year poster printed: 1981
      Country: Germany
      Size: 23.5" x 46.75"

This is a very rare, original advance German movie poster from 1981 for Das Boot (The Boat) starring Jurgen Prochnow, Herbert Gronemeyer, Klaus Wennemann, Hubertus Bengsch, and Martin Semmelrogge. Wolfgang Petersen directed the classic World War II submarine film.

The poster was printed to tease the initial September 1981 release of the film in Germany. Interestingly, the poster advertises a September 18 release however the film was actually released on September 17.

The text along the bottom of the poster translates to:

"The Fear. The Hate. The Hope. The Love. The Dying. The Film. The Boat."

It measures 23.5" x 46.75" and is in very good to excellent condition with minimal wear from handling. This poster was folded at the time of printing. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.

Please look closely at the photo (this is the actual poster you will receive). The small black squares in the corners and sides of the photo are magnets to hold the poster down and are not pins.

This collectible poster is not a reproduction or reprint. It was printed in Germany in 1981 to promote the initial release of Das Boot.
