Some Like It Hot (1959)

This is an original, insert movie poster from 1959 for Some Like It Hot starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown. Billy Wilder directed the classic crime comedy.

There were two styles of insert posters printed for the film in 1959.  The more common poster has a yellow background and the rarer poster has a white background with slightly different artwork.  This poster is the rarer, white background version. 

The poster measures 14" x 36" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display.  It was in good to very good condition prior to linen-backing and restoration with some wear and small tears at the top and top-right edges of the poster. The outer edges of the poster have slightly darkened from years in a frame. The poster was folded at the time of printing and but the fold lines are greatly reduced after backing. It has been stored flat for many years and will be rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.

Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not a stock image. The black circles in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.

This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1959 to promote the initial, theatrical release of Some Like It Hot, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
