    Deer Hunter (1978)

    • This is an original, English thirty-sheet billboard movie poster from 1978 for The Deer Hunter starring Robert De Niro, John Cazale, John Savage, Meryl Streep, Christopher Walken, and Chuck Aspegrent.  Michael Cimino directed the Academy Award-winning film.  Fred Atkins is the artist for the poster.

The poster was printed in 1978 to be pasted onto walls or billboards to tease the 1979 release of the film.  It measures 118" x 256" (about 9 feet tall by 21 feet high) and was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap.  The poster was likely not used and is in very good to excellent condition with scattered, light creasing form handling and long term storage.  It was tri-folded after printing and therefore has one less set of vertical folds.   Most of these posters were either used and then destroyed (as they would have been scrapped off after display).

Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not cropped or a stock image.

This extremely rare and collectible movie poster, printed in 1978 to tease the 1979 British theatrical release of The Deer Hunter, is not a reprint or reproduction.
