This is an original, linen-backed, one-sheet movie poster from 1976 for Rocky starring Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers and Burgess Meredith. John G. Avildsen directed the Academy Award-winning boxing film. This poster is from the initial release of the film before the movie was nominated for awards. Later posters feature text advertising the award nominations/wins.
The poster measures 27" x 41" and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. The poster was in very good condition prior to restoration with very minor edge wear and creasing. It was folded at the time of printing but the folds are much less noticeable after linen-backing. The poster is in excellent, restored condition. It will be rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not cropped or a stock image. The black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This rare and very collectible poster, printed in late 1976 to promote the early 1977 theatrical release of Rocky, is not a reprint or reproduction.
