This is an original, Italian 4 fogli theatrical movie poster from 1965 for The Agony and the Ecstasy starring Charlton Heston, Rex Harrison, Diane Cilento, Harry Andrews, Alberto Lupo, and Eleni Anousaki. Carol Reed directed the biography of painter and sculptor Michelangelo based on a novel by Irving Stone. Enzo Nistri is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 55” x 78" and was printed in two sections designed to overlap. It is in very good condition with slight darkening on some of the folds (normal for Italian posters of this age). The poster was folded at the time of printing and has minor creasing along parts of the folds. Most folds flatten out nicely for framing and are often desirable for vintage, collectible movie posters.
