This is an original, linen-backed, Style A one-sheet movie poster from 1975 for The Rocky Horror Picture Show starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Peter Hinwood, Barry Bostwick and Meat Loaf. Jim Sharman directed the cult-classic film.
The poster measures 27” x 41” and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. Prior to restoration, the poster was in very good condition with some creasing along parts of the folds and a few surface scuffs from handling.
The poster was printed in the United States for use in the American theaters however, at some point, it was shipped to a Spanish-speaking country where a large sticker (snipe) was placed over the tagline at the bottom of the poster. The phrase on the sticker translates as "an orgy of horror and madness" and it was left on the poster during restoration.
The poster was folded at the time of printing but the folds are much less noticeable after linen-backing. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
