This is an original, French moyenne theatrical movie poster from 1971 for the initial, theatrical release of Gimme Shelter. The infamous Altamont concert documentary features The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Ike and Tina Turner, The Grateful Dead, and Dick Carter. Charlotte Zwerin, Albert Maysles, and David Maysles directed the film.
The poster measures 23" x 31.25” and is in very good condition with single pinholes in the corners from theatrical display and scattered, light creasing from previous handling. It was briefly folded at the time of printing but has been stored flat for many years. It will be rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). It is not cropped or a stock image.
This rare and collectible poster, printed in 1971 to promote the French theatrical release of Gimme Shelter, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
