Around the World in Eighty Days (1956)

This is an original, rolled, half-sheet movie poster from late 1957 or early 1958 for the extended, New York theatrical release of Around the World in Eighty Days starring David Niven, Cantinflas, Robert Newton, Shirley MacLaine and cameos from over forty stars. Michael Anderson directed the classic film.

Around the World in Eighty Days premiered at the Rivoli Theater in New York City on October 17, 1956 and played there for the next 103 weeks. Special posters were printed for the premiere by the the E.J. Warner Poster Corp. and they also printed this very rare, theatrical half-sheet poster in late 1957 or early 1958 (likely) for the ongoing engagement at the Rivoli. Please note that this poster was not printed by the National Screen Service.

The poster measures 22” x 28” and is in very good condition with a number of minor creases scattered throughout the poster. Unlike most half-sheet posters from the period, it has never been folded.

Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). The small, black circles in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.

This very rare and collectible half-sheet poster, printed in 1957 or 1958 to promote the ongoing theatrical release of Around the World in Eighty Days, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
