This is an original, rolled, Japanese B3 movie poster from 1935 for Ekstase (released in the U.S. as "Ecstasy") starring Hedy Lamarr (billed under her real name Hedy Kiesler), Aribert Dog, Zvonimir Rogoz, Leopold Kramer, Emil Jerman and Pierre Nay. Gustav Machaty directed the Czechoslovakian/Austrian drama. Also released as Symphonie der Liebe (or Symphony of Love), the movie was controversial due to female nudity and portrayals of sexual situations.
Original, Japanese movie posters from the 1930s are extremely rare due to paper shortages during World War II. There are not many that have survived.
The poster measures 14.75" x 20.5" and is in very good condition with some wear along the edges from previous handling. It has never been folded.
Please look closely at the photos (this is the exact poster you are buying). The small, silver circles on the corners of the poster are magnets and are not pins.
This extremely rare and collectible poster, printed in 1935 to promote the initial, Japanese theatrical release of Ecstasy, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
