This is an original, one-sheet movie poster from 1954 for The High and the Mighty starring John Wayne, Claire Trevor, Laraine Day, Robert Stack, and Jan Sterling. William A. Wellman directed the aviation disaster thriller based on a novel by Ernest K. Gann. The film served as an influence for future aviation disaster films ranging from the 1970s Airport series to comedies like Airplane (1980).
The poster measures 27” x 41” and has been linen-backed for long-term preservation and display. Prior to backing, the poster was in very good condition with some minor fold wear, a few smudges around the edges, and pinholes from theatrical display. The poster was folded at the time of printing but the folds are much less noticeable after linen-backing. Linen-backed posters are stored flat and rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.
Please look closely at the photos as this is the exact poster you are buying. The small, black circles in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
